准时用英语怎么说

在翻译或写作时，我们经常用到“准时”，很多情况下，我们直接将它翻译为on time，而表达“及时”，往往用in time。其实，“准时”还有一些其他说法，需要注意。

一、on schedule（美）

表示恰好在规定的时间。

（1）The alarm clock woke him up on schedule. 闹钟准时将他闹醒。

二、on the dot/on the tick（英）

dot由钟表面代表钟点数的小点转义而来，tick由钟行走时的滴答声转义得来。

（2）The plane took off at seven on the tick/dot. 飞机在七点钟准时起飞。

三、on the stroke

stroke表示报时的钟声。

（3）He was here on the stroke. 他准时来到这里。

四、介词to + 名词

to the minute、to the moment、to the tick都属于这一类。

（4）He always comes to the very moment. 他总是来得十分准时。

五、具体时间+sharp/prompt

（5）Please be there at 8:30 sharp/prompt. 请在8:30准时到达那里。

六、punctual/punctually

表示条约性的严守时刻。

（6）He makes it a point of being punctual every day for his work. 他决定每天准时上班。

（7）Mary arrived at the New Inn punctually at 10 o'clock. 玛丽10点钟准时到达新酒店。

（8）He is punctual. You could set your watch by him. 他很准时，你可以按他来校正手表的时间。
